A six-year-old girl bursts through the surface of a pond at the bottom of a valley of wildflowers, and has no idea who she is or how she got there.
She meets six terrible fates. Each time she dies, she re-emerges from the same pond, slightly older than before - one hundred years into the future.
Retaining her memories from each life, Aerana encounters the descendents of those who have hurt her.
Her seventh life culminates in confronting every version of her previous self in a tower at sea. Only when she reaches the very top is she given the knowledge of how to stop the cycle.

Reality becomes blurred when Alice is seemingly confronted by the physical manifestation of a childhood friend who took his own life.
